When we were young, we used to think about what we want to be when we grow up. I am not sure how many of us really become the person that we wished to be and living the life of our childhood dream. For me, it just never turn out the way I would like it to be.
When I was young, I was more inclined toward science. My interest in science, especially Physics, was when I was in the elementary school. A picture of the structure of atom caught my attention. Ever since, I began to read more about science especially physics on electricity and atoms. But, at the place where I was staying, books and resources were limited, and there is only so much you can find out. Back then, there was no computers and not to mention the Internet. Information was so limited, and most of the time out-dated.
Anyway, I never get the chance to study physics in detail. I finished my high school, and went to university, but never take up Physics or any science as major degree. Instead, I took up engineering. It was never the same as Pure science, as it focused more on pratical application of physics in life. The teaching was terrible, and a lot of emphasis was on just passing exam. Nevertheless, I got my degree in engineering.
I guessed I lost my interest during my course of pursuing my engineering degree. My society at the time was not keen in basic sciences, and the people that you worked with and studied with were empathy toward such disciplines, and naturally the feeling toward science also subsides.
For most of us, our surrounding and society play a major role in influencing our path in our journey in life.
